Bishopparigo, whose real name is Nicolas Poirier, is a 38-year-old Parisian artist. Specializing in the contemporary urban world, he thrives in a colorful realm where carefree spirit reigns supreme and smiles are paramount.
It was in the early 2000s that this young self-taught artist developed a passion for street art. Wandering through the streets of the capital, he built an inspirational portfolio and began to bring his own universe to life.
It was only a few years later, after several depictions of dreamlike creatures, that he gave life to his symbolic animal, the Bishop bird. He has made these small birds his trademark, encouraging viewers to rediscover their inner child.
Considered a versatile creator, Bishopparigo asserts his style everywhere, and on everything! He began with his favorite terrain, the street, where he exhibited his collages in his hometown. He then ventured into children’s illustration, a world he knows well and which nourishes him, both with its colorful universes and its overflowing imagination.
